Friction is the third chapter of STATES OF CHANGE. The exhibition explores the tension that emerges when forces, ideas, identities, materials or perspectives meet, resist or push against one another. Friction can create conflict and discomfort, but it can also generate movement, energy and transformation.

Friction can take many forms, physical or emotional, personal or collective, visible or invisible. It may exist between people, materials, environments, expectations, beliefs or opposing forces, revealing what happens when things cannot move past one another without resistance.
